Worn by women in pairs. This example (Petersen type 51), is the most widespread type, found all over the viking world. Late 9th, early 10th century. They are also carved as delicately as possible and cast as one piece for maximum lightness, with contrasting silver wire decoration and silver studs. They are also about 20% smaller than most originals.
